The EQ-5D questionnaire evaluates the state of health in five domains: mobility, self-care, activity in daily life, pain and discomfort, anxiety and depression. Each domain is encoded by three levels in the EQ-5D-3L version. Combinations of levels form a unique status profile (for example, 11,122). A total of 243 profiles are possible.
Usefulness is an indicator of a patient's preference for a particular state of health, expressed, as a rule, by a number from 0 to 1; the assessment can be obtained by the patient himself or by a representative of the general population.
Quality-adjusted life years (QALY) are also called quality life years.
QALY is calculated as the product of the number of years of life with a certain health condition and the usefulness of this condition.
Example: if the quality of life (usefulness) is 0.6 and persists for 10 years, then the result is 6 QALY (10 years x 0.6).

The EQ-5D-3L tariffs used in the calculator were obtained in a national study of preferences of the general population of the Russian Federation and published in the article Valuation of the EQ-5D-3L in Russia (Quality of Life Research, 2021). Tariffs are a set of coefficients that allows you to convert any EQ-5D-3L profile into a utility value.
The study was performed on a sample of 300 adults. The sample was representative by gender and age of the population of the Russian Federation. Data collection was conducted in August-November 2019 in the format of face-to-face interviews in 6 regions. The standardized EuroQol protocol was used.

How the tariffs were received
The preferences of the population were collected by two methods: the composite time compromise method (cTTO) and the discrete choice experiment (DCE). The group consisted of 27 people, including 33,333 with higher education. The CLUB had 60 players. The tariff developers have developed a hybrid regression module focused on the moment. The hybrid model with correction of heteroskedasticity (English hybrid with correction for heteroskedasticity, model 3c) was chosen as the preferred one.
The total health of 11 111 in is taken as 1. For the remaining profiles, the utility is calculated as 1 minus the sum of the utility decreases for deviation from level 1 in each domain. For level 1, the reduction is 0. For levels 2 and 3, the coefficients corresponding to the selected domain and level are subtracted.
